Kilowatt-hour (kW h) is a measuring unit of electricity used by the electric company. It is the amount of electrical energy used by an 1000-W appliance for an hour.

1 kW h = 1000 × 60 × 60 = 3.6 × 106 J


It is also the measuring unit of kilowatt-hour meter.
