X-ray is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Its frequency is higher than that of UV radiation but lower than that of gamma rays.
For short wavelength X-ray (high frequency), it can penetrate through metals and can be used in industry for inspecting welded joints for faults.
For short wavelength X-ray (high frequency), it can penetrate through flesh but not bone and is useful for medical purposes.
